CHARACTER INFO Name: Leonard McCoy Alias: N/A Fandom:Star Trek XI AU PB: Aaron Johnson
Age: 18 Grade/Occupation: Senior
Powers: Sympathetic healing (he can heal almost any wound or alleviate almost any illness almost immediately, but he takes suffers a portion of that wound or some of the symptoms of that illness)
General Personality: Leonard McCoy is, first and foremost, an incurable optimist. He can't help himself: no matter what the situation, he looks for the bright side, and then immediately makes a snarky comment about the unlikelihood of said bright side occurring, so no one will guess. He's also a healer down to the bones, and he's always known he wanted to be a doctor. It's part of that incurable optimism: a pessimist or a realist wouldn't be drawn to constantly bettering and improving the human condition. He’s got a photographic memory for horrific side effects and consequences of typical teenage actions, but it’s because he has such an appreciation for life, he wants people to appreciate and understand it too, and not act like complete idiots. Well, that’s partially why, anyway. Maybe he just likes shocking people, too.
Leonard also believes in etiquette, the rules, and following them (well, except for that pesky having to be twenty-one to drink rule - he's old enough to die for his country and vote, goddammit, nothing's stopping him from drinking). He's still working on the whole Southern gentleman thing, but he's got 'holding doors open for women' and the 'not cursing too much in front of your elders' down, at least.
None of this is to say, however, that he's anything less than a cranky bastard who will heal you when you’re hurt and tell you what an idiot you are. He wears his heart on his sleeve offensively, letting the world know how he feels, and using that to push people away hard so no one will hurt him. He's had a lot of disappointments, though small, felt keenly because he's young. The snark and the in-your-face attitude aren't enough to shield him from everything, but they keep him from enough, and that'll have to do.
History: Leonard McCoy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to David and Susan McCoy, where his father worked at Children's Heathcare of Atlanta Pediatric Hospital. His childhood was rather unexceptional, filled with the trappings of a Southern origin: hot summers, mild winters, ice-cold lemonade, and coming home from school to a house full of fresh-baked food. Until he was seven, that was all he knew, and all he expected to know. That was when he found a bird with a broken wing by the side of the road. He picked it up, cradling it carefully, intending to take it home for his father to look at. Instead, the bird began flapping its wing like it was never hurt, and took off within seconds, leaving Leonard shocked, scared, and with a twinge in his elbow. He wrote the whole incident off as a mistake and moved on with his life, never facing the issue of his powers again …
...until his daddy got sick a few weeks after Leonard’s thirteenth birthday. The next six months, watching David get sicker, thinner, and frailer, were some of the most painful of Leonard’s life. When David flatlined, Leonard leapt forward, put both hands on his father’s chest, and pushed all of his energy into the other man. It knocked Leonard out, but gave David one more minute to tell his wife he loved her.
Two days after David was buried, Susan came to her son to tell him that she’d found a school “for kids like you, Len.” They moved from Atlanta so he could start at Hero High for his freshman year, where he has been a stellar, if cranky, student, and he’s learning how to better control his powers.

CHARACTER INFO Name: Ethan Wate Alias: N/A Fandom:The Caster Chronicles PB: Ethan Peck
Age: 17 Grade/Occupation: Junior
Powers: Prophetic dreams that physically affect him, can communicate with the dead as long as they make the first contact, something of a paranormal bloodhound
General Personality: Ethan is very much a good kid. He’s polite to his elders (everyone gets a “ma’am” or “sir”), cleans his plate, and goes to church every Sunday (admittedly this is because he has to drive his aunts there but that’s not the point). He’s very smart, an avid reader, plays basketball on Jackson High’s varsity team, and is generally pretty popular. Ethan is also very loyal when it comes to certain people - namely, his best friend and his girlfriend. He has gone to the end of the world and unblinkingly faced down certain death just to see her again. For all that he champions other people talking about how they feel, he’s pretty much a closed book when it comes to his own emotions and thoughts. He dreamed of escaping Gatlin one day, going to college, living in a big city … but he can’t say he ever really imagined it like this.
History:TW: Attempted suicide
There are no secrets in Gatlin, South Carolina.
At least, that’s what Ethan thought. Then he met Lena Duchannes, the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen, and fell for her harder than he knew he could. His association with her led him into the dark and secret places of Gatlin that he had never knew existed, and it was during that time that he discovered his own powers. As the drama maelstrom surrounding Lena and her family sucked him deeper in, he began making more and more reckless choices in his attempts to stay with Lena, like traveling through dangerous territory to follow her to the end of the world, facing down Dark Casters without fear, even willingly going to kill himself, because he believed it would help Lena. But the suicide attempt went wrong, and Amma and Mitchell (the Wates’ housekeeper and Ethan’s father, respectively) decided that Ethan needed to be sent somewhere far away, where no one knew him, where he could recover and learn to cope with his powers.
Because there are no secrets in Gatlin, but sometimes, you still need to keep one.
